Managing big data is a problem for many industries. One of the biggest data sets is image reconnaissance for the US military. BAE Systems, the British multinational defense company, used ideas behind xGraph when xGraph’s grandfather NexusX was used to mange the collection and computer processing of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) image data in littoral combat zones for anti-submarine and anti-mine warfare.
The technology in xGraph has since evolved into a multi-faceted big analytics engine that can handle distributed data collection and processing across thousands of computers. The fundamental ideas were first tested out in managing and processing reconnaissance data for the US Navy.
